Thanks to Tresa Haymond for the beautiful photos of Ben to celebrate his mission. We wanted to have a "Boston Harbor" type of setting so we chose to take the photos at the Lindon Marina. That's one handsome missionary!

We did it! Our Celebratory Trip

Part of Ben's mission journey was reaching some health milestones of which we all participated in. We hit our goal and celebrated with a 12 day trip to the East Coast, a Cruise to Florida and the Bahamas and a visit to Ben's Mission. The whole trip was superb! We loved spending time with family, seeing the sites, eating delicious food on the cruise and driving from New York to Boston. We were able to see much of Ben's mission, including the two temples in the mission and we visited our good friends in MA one night. He was especially excited to see where he will be serving in a few short months. We drove through Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and up to New Hampshire.

Temple Blessings

One preparation step for a mission is making covenants and receiving special blessings in the temple. We were able to attend the temple with Ben today, along with our other 3 married children. What a blessing to have 50% of our kids in the temple with us. And we loved having other friends and family with us as well.

Dear Elder Bushman,

You are hereby called to serve as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You are hereby assigned to labor in the Massachusetts Boston Mission. It is anticipated that you will serve for a period of 24 months.

You should report to the Provo Missionary Training Center on Wednesday, August 2, 2017. You will prepare to preach the gospel in the Spanish language.

What a glorious day! Ben has worked so hard to get to this point. We are so excited for his choice to serve and for this amazing call. Ben has a love for liberty so what better place to go than Boston? 

Spanish speaking is such a blessing. Ben had the great desire to speak Spanish. He was so thrilled when he read that part of the call. August 2nd is quite a ways away though.

Thank you to all those who have supported Ben to get to this point. We love you all so much!

It Came!!!

The call arrived today - April 6th. How appropriate! (April 6th is the day that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was organized) Ben is a "small crowd" kind of guy so he wants a personal experience with opening his mission call. We'll see where he's going tonight!!
